BOOK 2 POST 1
In Deep Shift: Riding the Waves of Change to Find Peace, Fulfillment, and Freedom
By: Valerie Gangas
From the description Professor Hansen provided, I felt like this book would be very relatable and applicable to my life today. It talks about being at the forefront of a major life change, which many of us college seniors are experiencing right now. The book also writes about when things don't go according to plan. I have my life after college pretty mapped out in my head and am not looking forward to when things go wrong, so I am hoping to gather some good advice for when things ultimately don't go my way.
This book intrigues me because of its description, mentioning chapters that cover something as intimate as a broken relationship, medical emergency, or personal loss. Valerie has experienced her own loss of her mother, so I am interested to hear how she handled such a tragedy in her life. She has a unique perspective on very tough situations and I am hoping she will guide and teach me with her wisdom throughout the book. I am very excited to learn how to reframe the hard times and use struggles to grow as a person. I think as a student entering the workforce and being newly independent will present its challenges which is why I chose this book.
